The Paisley Diet Journal:
Journaling Your Way To Diet Success
I've tried many different diets in the last 20 years and usually did okay. But after I lost the weight, I'd gain it right back.
This changed when I learned to journal my diet.
Over the years I've lost and gained more weight than I care to admit. But that changed once I started journaling my diet.
Sure I still gain a bit now and then -- nobody and no diet is perfect! But now my weight changes by around 5 pounds, not the 25-30 pounds it used to.
By keeping a journal on my diet I can:
- Make informed decisions about what I eat
- Always know how many more calories I can have that day
- Make up for "slipping" on my diet by tracking exercise
- Create a cheat-sheet reference of the foods I most often eat
- Have a complete record of my weight, inches, and foods
This is NOT Yet Another Diet!
This is not yet another diet.
It is a way to help you succeed at whatever diet you are already on.
It doesn't matter if you are on Atkins, South Beach, 7-Day Cleanse, or the MediFast diet. Because almost whatever diet you are on, you need to track your calories in and out!

By keeping a journal of my diet I was able to see that I could eat birthday cake one day, and have a glass of wine most evenings and STILL meet my calorie goals if I spend about half an hour each morning on the treadmill.

What I've learned is that the key to keeping weight off is to stop dieting!
Don't say to yourself
"I can't eat that because I'm on a diet."
instead learn the things that you CAN eat and then change your normal eating habits.
I learned this by keeping track of everything I ate, then I could see the patterns in what I was eating.
The Paisley Diet Journal starts with a 14-page discussion of how it all works, then it provides charts to cover 52 weeks, plus "Snapshot" pages where you can record your progress.
Some Other Helpful Diet Tools
You may want to buy (or borrow!) a calculator and a scale to use as you journal your diet.
...and I LOVE having my own treadmill at home! I even have it set up so I can read my emails while walking in the morning!
